Defensive Backfield

Commitments: None.

Targets:

  • James Williams, 5-star S
  • Tony Grimes, 5-star CB
  • Ga’Quincy McKinstry, 5-star CB
  • Corey Collier, 4-star CB
  • Jordan Hancock, 4-star CB
  • Derrick Davis Jr., 5-star S

There are several others in the defensive backfield that Clemson has offered and it wouldn’t be surprising for the Tigers to heavily target any of them.

At this point, I’d love to see Clemson go after 5-star S James Williams and 5-star CB Tony Grimes. Williams is that physical, athletic specimen who could easily develop into the next Isaiah Simmons.

Grimes is that talented, physical cornerback who could come in and make an immediate impact.

Overall, look for the positional numbers and targets to become a bit clearer once we get through the spring and into the summer. We’ll continue to update our recruiting boards and give you a breakdown of where the Tigers stand with the top 2021 targets as things progress.
