The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is considered by many to be the best in the nation. Here are the top targets at each position.

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class picked up four commitments last weekend as the Tigers moved to No. 1 in the country.

The Tigers are now in prime position with several top targets and are in the thick of recruiting as we head into the spring.

Here’s a look at the top targets by position for the 2021 Clemson football recruiting class.

Quarterback

Commitments: None

Targets:

  • Caleb Williams, 5-star
  • Drake Maye, 4-star (Alabama commit)

Caleb Williams was on campus for the Tigers’ Elite Junior Day and it seems from all accounts that he thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

At this point, though, I don’t expect Clemson to sign either of these top targets at quarterback. Why? The Tigers already have their guy in place for the next four seasons.

Trevor Lawrence will start one more year before heading to the NFL and that will leave the door open for 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei to take over from there. It’s tough to recruit 5-star QBs in back-to-back cycles.

If Clemson does choose to take a quarterback- which they likely will- it will probably be a late pick-up and commitment from a 3-star or 4-star guy that they really liked after watching summer film or seeing them at camp.
