The 2021 Clemson football recruiting cycle is heating up as the Tigers prepare for the Elite Junior Day, which is set to take place this weekend.

The Clemson football program will host its Elite Junior Day this Saturday for a select number of juniors who are high on the Tigers’ radar for the 2021 class.

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class already has five commitments, all of which are 4-stars according to the 247 Sports’ Composite player rankings:

  • 4-star C Ryan Linthicum (No. 1 C in the nation)
  • 4-star OT Marcus Tate (No. 15 OT in the nation)
  • 4-star LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (No. 2 LB in the nation)
  • 4-star WR Dacari Collins (No. 31 WR in the nation)
  • 4-star RB Phil Mafah (No. 13 RB in the nation)

All five of these commitments are expected to attend the junior day this weekend. I’d expect several of these prospects to move up recruiting rankings as we head into the summer. The Clemson football coaching staff does a good job on hitting guys at the top of their board and that’s the case with these commitments.

Here’s a look at some of the uncommitted juniors who are scheduled to be in attendance this weekend: (star ratings according to the 247 Sports’ Composite rankings)

  • 5-star OT Tommy Brockermeyer
  • 5-star QB Caleb Williams
  • 5-star RB Will Shipley
  • 5-star DT Payton Page
  • 4-star WR Beaux Collins
  • 4-star TE Jake Briningstool
  • 4-star OL Tristan Leigh
  • 4-star DE Cade Denhoff
  • 3-star OL Dietrick Pennington

This is a star-studded group of juniors with a ton of potential for Clemson football as we head deeper into the cycle. At this point, 5-star DE Korey Foreman (No. 1 DE in the nation) is likely the highest defensive end on the Tigers’ board, but we’re not sure yet if he’ll be on campus for Junior Day.

Clemson is in good position with Tommy Brockermeyer, Beaux Collins, Payton Page, Jake Briningstool and Will Shipley.

dark. Next. Clemson could have best 1-2 RB punch in nation

It will be interesting to see if the Tigers can make bigger strides with some of those prospects as they head into the spring. We’ll be giving more analysis on this 2021 class over the course of the next few weeks, just make sure you check back here on Rubbing the Rock for updates and complete coverage.
