The Clemson football team will take on the LSU Tigers Monday night in the National Championship. Here are five storylines to watch in the match-up.

The Clemson football program is just one victory away from winning back-to-back National Championships, but the LSU Tigers stand tall in its way.

The battle of the Tigers will determine the 2019 College Football Playoff National Champion and there’s certainly plenty of intriguing aspects coming into the match-up.

Here’s a look at five storylines to watch for Clemson football heading into New Orleans.

5. Trevor Lawrence vs. Joe Burrow

Let’s go ahead and start this post out with an area that every single person who has said anything about this game has mentioned: The epic QB battle between Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow.

Burrow was the Heisman Trophy winner this season and has put up video game-like numbers over the course of the year for the Tigers. He has been basically unstoppable all season long.

Lawrence, on the other hand, started out a little slower but has come on strong as of late. Lawrence has now thrown 202 consecutive passes without an interceptions- which is the longest active streak in the nation, according to Tim Bourrett– and has done an excellent job leading Clemson football through the season unscathed.

Both of these QBs are potential No. 1 overall picks in the NFL Draft. They both have tons of talented play-makers around them. The winner of this game will hinge on which quarterback can get the job done when it matters most.
