Vivid Seats is projecting that Clemson football fans will be vastly outnumbered for the National Championship game against LSU.

To no surprise, Clemson football will be playing a token away game against the LSU Tigers Monday night for the National Championship.

That being said, it’s much closer than many would’ve thought heading into the match-up.

Vivid Seats is projecting a ratio of 62 percent LSU fans and 38 percent Clemson football fans for the title game.

With the game being played in LSU’s backyard, it was expected earlier in the process that the ratio would likely be much higher, potentially up in the 70-percent range in favor of the Bayou Bengals. After all, the trip from Baton Rouge to New Orleans is just over an hour by car.

Interestingly enough, Vivid Seats projected that Ohio State fans would out-number Clemson fans 62 percent to 38 percent in the Fiesta Bowl. For those that made the trip out to Glendale, most would likely say the percentages were a little bit higher in favor of the Buckeyes, but there was certainly plenty of orange walking around the area and in the stadium that night.

Overall, we knew coming into this one that Clemson would be facing a largely hostile crowd for the National Championship.

While having a crowd largely in your favor can play to your advantage, it can also work to your disadvantage. Clemson already knows coming in that it is playing a token away game. Because of the crowd being largely LSU fans, though, it seems that Bayou Bengals could have a little extra pressure coming into the match-up, especially if things don’t necessarily play out the way they want to early.
