The Clemson football team is a slight favorite heading into the CFB Playoff matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes later this month.

The Clemson football team hasn’t been an underdog all season long and that likely won’t be the case in the CFB Playoff semifinals, either.

Despite the fact that Ohio State is expected to bring more than 60 percent of the fans in attendance to the game in Glendale, Arizona, and the fact that the Buckeyes have been coined as ‘the most complete team in College Football,’ it’s actually the Tigers who are favored in the match-up.

The odds opened up in favor of Clemson football by 2.5 points, courtesy of the Action Network.

Since the odds opened up, however, the money has trended slightly in the Buckeyes’ favor. The consensus spread for the game is now Clemson -2, meaning the spread has dropped a 0.5 point towards Ohio State.

It should also be noted that around 61 percent of the bets are coming in on Clemson to cover.

Despite there being a slight point differential, a 2-point spread is basically a pick ‘em. The nation seems divided as to who will win this game.

Many believe the Buckeyes are the most complete team in the nation and that they’ll cover that small point total and win the game outright.

Others believe in Clemson’s experience, talent and depth. They think the Tigers will take care of Ohio State and advance to the National Championship for a fourth time in the past five seasons.

There are so many interesting battles to watch in this one: Dabo Swinney vs. Ryan Day; That Ohio State offense vs. Brent Venables; Clemson’s offensive line vs. Chase Young; The Buckeyes’ defense vs. Travis Etienne and Trevor Lawrence; Justin Fields vs. Trevor Lawrence.

Next. 5-star DT Demonte Capehart is a monster up the middle. dark

The nation is split, but we’ll find out on Saturday, Dec. 28 when the Tigers take on the Buckeyes in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl. It should be a fun matchup.
