FanSided 250: Clemson ranked No. 1 fanbase in College Football

The Clemson football fanbase was ranked as the No. 1 group of fans in the country, according to the FanSided 250.

If you’ve ever been to Death Valley and watched a Clemson football game, you know how special the Tiger fanbase truly is.

Clemson football fans travel like no other, they’re passionate like no other, and the group is growing rampant as part of the Tigers’ recent success.

All of that was noticed Tuesday afternoon with the FanSided 250 was released.

The FanSided 250 is the ultimate rankings of the hottest fandoms anywhere, including sports, entertainment, celebrities and gaming. It’s all compiled together using fan votes, search scores and social media followers to present the top 250 fanbases in the world.

Clemson football was ranked as the No. 1 College Football fanbase in the nation, according to the rankings. Not only were the Tigers the No. 1 CFB fan base, Clemson was ranked the hottest fanbase in the world after winning its second National Championship in the last three seasons.

Here’s a look at where Clemson stacks up and some of the notable programs to fall behind the Tigers on the list.

The ultimate fandom rankings…

In terms of College Football, the Tigers are ranked No. 1 ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 2), Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 3) and LSU Tigers (No. 4).

Overall, Clemson is ranked as the No. 24 overall fanbase. The Tigers are ahead of notable names like Stephen Curry, the Jonas Brothers, Becky Lynch, Lionel Messi, New Orleans Saints, Supernatural and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, just to name a few.

  5. Patrick Mahomes

It’s pretty impressive to see Clemson football fans being acknowledged as one of the greatest fan bases in the country when you look at the relative smallness of the university and its fans compared to the rest of the nation.
