Where will Clemson football end up in the latest CFB Playoff rankings? What about the rest of the top-10? Here’s our projections for the new poll.

The Clemson football team dominated Wake Forest 52-3 Saturday afternoon in Death Valley, improving to 11-0 on the season.

The Tigers moved up to No.  3 in the CFB Playoff rankings when they were unveiled last Tuesday and there’s no reason to expect any movement this week.

But what about the rest of the nation? How will the committee react to Tua Tagovailoa’s awful season-ending injury? Could there be a shake-up near the top? Is Oklahoma expected to surge up the rankings following a come-from-behind victory over Baylor?

Here’s a look at our projected top-10 for the CFB Playoff rankings this week and what Clemson football fans should keep their eyes on as we head down the stretch.

Projected Top-10:

  1. LSU
  2. Ohio State
  3. Clemson
  4. Georgia
  5. Alabama
  6. Oregon
  7. Utah
  8. Oklahoma
  9. Penn State
  10. Florida

If this poll looks similar to many Clemson football fans, it’s because it’s the same top-10 as the current AP Top-25.

I don’t believe the committee is going to drop Alabama with Tua Tagovailoa’s injury this week. If the Crimson Tide struggles with Auburn in two weeks, that could change, but they’ll likely remain at No. 5 for the time being.

If Oregon and Utah continue to win, they’ll need to be cheering against Georgia. The likely outcome, if the Bulldogs lose to LSU in the SEC Championship game, is that the Pac-12 Champion will get into the playoff, though Oklahoma could have something to say about that. The Sooners will likely need the Pac-12 to fall out of the equation just because of the perceived schedule at this point.

The main thing Clemson football needs to do is just keep winning. If the Tigers beat the Gamecocks and win the ACC Championship, there should be nothing standing in their way of getting back to the CFB Playoff.

It will, however, be interesting to see how some of these games turn out down the stretch.
