The Clemson football team comes into the matchup with NC State as a heavy favorite. Here’s a look at the early Vegas odds for the ACC Atlantic tilt.

The Clemson football team will travel up to Raleigh for a game against the NC State Wolfpack Saturday evening coming off an impressive 59-14 blowout of the Wofford Terriers.

Though the Tigers won in blowout fashion, they actually fell two points below the spread (47 points) and didn’t cover the number for the first time since the UNC game back in September.

Here’s a look at the early Vegas odds for Clemson football as the Tigers prepare to take on the NC State Wolfpack.

Thoughts:

Interestingly enough, that 31-point spread seems a little low. At this point, 88 percent of the money is coming in on Clemson football and it wouldn’t be surprising to see that spread rise over the course of the next few days.

The Tigers are heavy favorites for a reason. Clemson has been playing at a higher level and the offense has been much more efficient as of late. The Tiger defense has been dominant all season long and there’s no reason to expect that they won’t continue that streak against an NC State team that has had quarterback issues all season.

The Wolfpack were just beaten soundly by Wake Forest this past weekend, 44-10, and hold just a 4-4 record for the 2019 season.

Next. Playing Wofford is weak, but Bama vs. WCU is okay?. dark

This isn’t the Clemson-NC State matchups of a couple of years ago. Dave Doeren had a small window of time where he had a dominant defense combined with a talented offense. During that time, he just couldn’t find a way to beat the Tigers and it won’t be happening this time either, barring something unforeseen.
