The Clemson football team covered a sizeable spread for a third-straight week when the Tigers beat Boston College 59-7 in Death Valley last Saturday.
The Tigers will now look to continue that success and improve to 9-0 with a win over the Wofford Terriers.
Clemson comes into the matchup as a heavy favorite, but will the Tigers be able to match a huge spread? Here’s our pick against the spread for Clemson football vs. Wofford.
Current Spread: Clemson -47
Spread Prediction:
47 points is a ton of points, but the Tigers beat Boston College by 52 this past Saturday. I don’t expect that we’ll see Trevor Lawrence or Travis Etienne as long as we did last weekend- they played a couple of drives in the third quarter.
Instead, I think we could see Chase Brice in the game before halftime if things go according to plan. That could lead to a little less scoring than normal and the backup defense could potentially give up some points.
Even so, the smart pick here- if you’re choosing to play it- is to take Clemson minus the points until otherwise proven. The Tigers will score a ton of points and I think Wofford will have a tough time getting much going.
Over/Under: 59.5
Over/Under Prediction:
If Clemson football is going to win the game by 47 points, the consensus would be to take the ‘over’ here. The Tigers will likely score in the 50s by themselves and could reach the total on their own- potentially more.
