The Tigers will be looking to cover the spread for a fourth-straight week and improve to 9-0 on the season, as well.

Clemson football enters the game a little banged up as a few players will be held out due to minor injuries. Here’s a look at our injury report heading into the Wofford game Saturday afternoon.

Injury Report vs. Wofford:

  • OL Blake Vinson (Out for Season), Patella Injury
  • LB Bryton Constantin (Out for Season), Torn ACL
  • DT Xavier Kelly (Out), AC Joint
  • DB Denzel Johnson (Out)
  • DE Xavier Thomas (Available, but likely won’t play), Concussion

Dabo Swinney told the media early this week that Xavier Thomas looked good in practice and will be available Saturday, the Clemson football coaching staff will try to hold him out this week. That would likely mean that he’ll return at full-strength next week for NC State and certainly for Wake Forest at worst.

Both defensive reserves Xavier Kelly and Denzel Johnson will be out with injuries, but are expected to return in the near future. This would’ve been a game where both Kelly and Johnson would’ve gotten extended playing time, but with them out look for more of the young Tigers (Ruke Orhorhoro at DT and Lannden Zanders, Joseph Charleston at S) to get more snaps and experience.

There are others that have nagging injuries, but nothing major. It was good to see Tee Higgins competing last week and he looked looser when running.

The overarching goal for this game against Wofford is to avoid injury. The Tigers are going to win by a lot of points, but they need to get out of this one with no more injuries and allow some of the starters and key contributors an opportunity to rest and recuperate as we head into the remainder of November.
