2. The Florida State blowout

To get to the next one on our list, we have to rewind a few years.

In 2013, the Clemson-Florida State game was being marketed as one of the biggest games to ever be played in Death Valley.

More than 100,000 fans were in Clemson that day and the stadium was as packed as it has ever been to see the No. 3-ranked Tigers take on the No. 5-ranked Florida State Seminoles. The winner of this game was said to be in the driver’s seat to get to the National Championship and the atmosphere was absolutely electric in Death Valley that night.

Unfortunately, things got ugly pretty quick.

Jameis Winston and that FSU team defeated Clemson 51-14 with the eyes of the nation watching.

Just like the West Virginia game, this was one of those moments where Tiger fans were forced to just turn off the television because of the disappointed nature of the outing.

Clemson got better from this game and the program grew as a result, but it’s certainly one of those moments Tiger fans don’t look fondly upon even after all the success that has followed years later.
