The Clemson football team dominated the Boston College Eagles coming away with a final score of 59-7 Saturday night in Death Valley.
Rain didn’t come until after the game, but the Clemson Tigers provided plenty of lightning on their way to their eight victory of the season.
The scoring got started after a Clemson drive stalled early in the first quarter and the Tigers settled for a 23-yard field goal from BT Potter. The next drive, Travis Etienne powered into the end zone for a 3-yard touchdown to put the Tigers up 10-0. From then, it was just complete domination.
Etienne finished with three touchdowns on the ground and Trevor Lawrence threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns– two to Diondre Overton and one to Amari Rodgers. Chase Brice came into the game and threw for 97 yards and a touchdown to Overton.
The Clemson defense gave up just one touchdown and 177 total yards of offense to Boston College. The offense, on the other hand, got into the end zone eight times and had 674 total yards.

Analysis:
This is exactly what Clemson football fans wanted to see in this one. The offense was able to move the ball at will and the defense continued its dominant fashion.
It was really nice to Diondre Overton get going, catching three passes all for touchdowns. Trevor Lawrence was much more patient in his decision-making and elected to use his check-down option several times instead of forcing something into double-coverage.
The defense, led by Isaiah Simmons, continued to do what it does best. AJ Dillon had a couple of nice runs- just because of his pure talent- but the defense did an excellent job bottling up that Boston College rushing attack and they also got into the backfield and pressure the quarterback in passing situations.
The Tigers will be back in Death Valley next Saturday for a matchup with the Wofford Terriers, slated to kickoff at 4 p.m. on the ACC Network.
