Clemson Football: 5 Storylines to Watch vs. Louisville 2019

3. Xavier Thomas in concussion protocol

One of the Tigers’ top defenders- Xavier Thomas- is in concussion protocol.

Thomas was banged up in practice earlier this week and it’s questionable if he will be able to play on Saturday.

Though Thomas hasn’t quite had the amount of sacks that we thought he’d have at this point in the season, he has still been an instrumental part of the Clemson football defense, especially that pass-rush.

If Thomas is unable to go, the good news is that the Tigers have plenty of depth at the defensive end position. Logan Rudolph, Justin Foster and KJ Henry will split to gain the majority of the snaps and I’d imagine we see more Justin Mascoll than any other game this season.
