The Clemson football team will travel up to Louisville for a matchup with the Cardinals. Here’s our pick against the spread for the game Saturday.
The Clemson football team will travel up to Louisville to take on the Cardinals.
The Tigers will look to remain undefeated on the season and improve to 7-0 here in the midst of an October run. Clemson is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation and the Tigers will be looking to make some statements throughout the month of October before the CFB Playoff committee comes out with its first poll.
Here is our pick against the spread for Clemson football heading into the matchup with Louisville. All of our spreads are courtesy of the Action Network.
Clemson Football Spread Prediction vs. Louisville:
Current Spread: Louisville +24
Spread Prediction:
Louisville has scored a ton of points this season and probably has one of the more talented offenses that Clemson football has faced. The Tigers will certainly have a bit of challenge, but there’s no reason to believe that the Cardinals will be able to slow down the Clemson offense.
The Tigers should be able to have their way with the Louisville defense and it should be expected that Brent Venables is able to stop the Cardinal’s two-headed attack at quarterback. Clemson covers the 24-point spread, which seems a bit low.
Current Over/Under: 60.5
Over/Under Prediction:
The over/under is set at 60.5. In my opinion, the Tigers are going to score somewhere between 42-56 points. That leaves Louisville to get the rest. The score of this game feels like it’s going to be something like 49-10, 56-14 or 52-7. Something in that realm, which is all around the number.
I’m going to take the ‘over’ because the Tigers trended upwards for the first time really all season. Louisville has some explosiveness that could lead to a score or two and I believe the Clemson football offense will continue to score at a high rate after its performance last week against Florida State, a much better defense than what the Cardinals currently possess.
