The Clemson football team enters this week as heavy favorites over the Louisville Cardinals. Here’s a look at the early Vegas odds for the matchup.

The Clemson football team improved to 6-0 on the season with a win over the Florida State Seminoles Saturday afternoon in Death Valley.

Now, the Tigers will take on the Louisville Cardinals in a road matchup looking to continue their winning ways. A victory on Saturday would give the Clemson football program 22-straight wins.

Here’s a look at the early Vegas odds for the Clemson football team as the Tigers head up to Louisville this weekend.

Early Vegas Odds vs. Louisville

Opening Spread: Louisville +23

Early Thoughts:

Louisville is coming off a win over Wake Forest where the Cardinals scored a total of 62 points. Because of that 62-59 victory, the spread is a little lower than most probably would’ve thought heading into this one.

Scott Satterfield has a little momentum building in that Louisville football program and it’s clear that the Cardinals are going to be looking for a huge upset Saturday when they take on the Tigers.

That being said, the rebuild isn’t going to happen overnight for Louisville. Clemson football has much more depth and talent and the Tigers played their best game of the season this past weekend as well, resulting in a 45-14 victory over rival Florida State.

Clemson will look to continue its dominance Saturday against Louisville and it’s my expectation that we will see that spread (23) rise as we get closer to the game. It will likely settle closer to the 28-point mark- potentially a little lower- but the money still should be expected to be heavy on Clemson.

Next. No, Dabo Swinney wasn't classless vs. FSU. dark

Louisville has some offensive firepower, but they haven’t faced a defense of the Tigers’ caliber all season.
