The Clemson football team will take on the Charlotte 49ers Saturday. Here are our complete staff predictions for the match up.
The Clemson Tigers (3-0) will host the Charlotte 49ers (2-1) Saturday night in Death Valley.
The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. live on the ACC Network. The Tigers are coming off an impressive 41-6 victory over Syracuse in which players believe they still have plenty of room to improve.
Here are our staff predictions for the match up Saturday night.
Shawn Spencer
Score: Clemson 63, Charlotte 10
Reason: The Tigers are just better than Charlotte. The talent and depth is going to be too much and I think we see the offense get into rhythm and score a lot of points as a result. This will be a depth-building game and we’re going to see a bunch of different Tigers play in this one.
Tyreese Ingram
Score: Clemson 65, Charlotte 10
Reason: Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne will thrive in the first half and Chase Brice and the other offensive backups get a lot of work before facing the Tarheels. The defense will continue their assault on quarterbacks and backfields and dominate on Saturday.
Sean Watterson
Score: Clemson 52, Charlotte 10
Reason: If the Tigers put the pedal down all game, this game would be an even bigger blowout. But subbing in during the third quarter will give Charlotte some chances to score on offense and lead to a few punts from Clemson. This is a welcome respite for the Tigers before they head into the meat of its schedule.
Barry Shuck
Score: Clemson 62, Charlotte 10
Reason: If this is the Charlotte (Carolina) Panthers it would be a closer score. Colleges like Charlotte need huge paychecks and get one for this game. Dabo will play approximately 70 players.
Cole Little
Score: Clemson 56, Charlotte 14
Reason: With arguably the most difficult games of their regular-season slate behind them, the Tigers should face little to no trouble at all when the Charlotte 49ers take the field at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The 49ers’ prospects are not good, as the Tigers’ offense is riding high off an impressive performance last weekend and figures to dominate Charlotte in the non-conference contest.
Nick Young
Score: Clemson 55, Charlotte 10
Reason: With this being the season record booster for Clemson, it will be a dominating game and the Tigers will come out on top.
