Clemson Football: CBS already showing major SEC bias
CBS is already showing its bias against Clemson football and support for the SEC following its latest rankings for College Football.
It didn’t take long for CBS to change its mind about who the No. 1 team in the country was.
Despite Clemson football being ranked No. 1 in every other major poll, CBS decided to move the Alabama Crimson Tide into the No. 1 spot following the Tide’s impressive (*cough*chuckle*cough) win over South Carolina.
Though Alabama gave up 23 points to the Gamecocks and it very well could’ve been more had it not been for poor coaching and officiating, the organization made the decision that Alabama deserved to be ranked ahead of Clemson football.
Through three games, Clemson has three wins over Power-Five programs and a win over Texas A&M, who is ranked No. 19 in CBS’s poll.
In the same time span, Alabama has two wins over Power-Five programs and no wins over ranked teams. Somehow, though, CBS believes that the Crimson Tide should be ahead of Clemson based off what? Your guess is as good as mine.
There’s nothing that has happened to this point in the season that should indicate that Alabama is the No. 1 team in the nation.
The Crimson Tide struggled with South Carolina- a team that was beaten by UNC just a couple of weeks ago- and had Tua Tagovailoa still in the game late to add a touchdown onto the score.
You can’t just rank teams based on who you like better, but that’s exactly what CBS Sports has done. The organization also has LSU ranked No. 3, though I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they rank the SEC Tigers ahead of Clemson, as well. They have Georgia at No. 5, which is a bit surprising, followed by Auburn at No. 9 and Florida at No. 10.
In the end, these polls don’t matter. But, it’s still a bit frustrating for Clemson football fans to see an organization already attempting to start a narrative that just shouldn’t exist.
