The Clemson football team will take on Texas A&M this afternoon in Death Valley. Here are some last minute predictions for the match up with the Aggies.

The Clemson football team heads into Week 2 looking to make a statement to rest of the nation with a win over Texas A&M.

The Tigers have already proven to be the nation’s top program, but a win over an SEC team would just continue to push that narrative as Clemson begins conference play the following week.

The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. Clemson football fans attending the game are encouraged to arrive early and leave ample time to get into the stadium before kickoff.

As Clemson football fans prepare for the match up against Texas A&M and set up their tailgates, here are a few last minute predictions for the game this afternoon.

Last Minute Predictions:

  • We’ll see some fireworks

The passing game wasn’t necessarily on par with what we’ve become accustomed to seeing from last season when the Tigers took on Georgia Tech last Thursday. Expect that all to change this week.

I predict that we see a couple of long touchdown throws (45-plus yards) from Trevor Lawrence to the likes of Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross and Co. Saturday afternoon.

  • A More Balanced Offense

The offense won’t rely too heavily on either the run or pass game this afternoon. You’re going to see a balanced attack that utilizes both Trevor Lawrence’s passing ability and Travis Etienne/Lyn-J Dixon’s running ability.

  • Travis Etienne scores first

This certainly isn’t a bold prediction, but I think you’re going to see Travis Etienne score the first touchdown for the Tigers. After marching down the field, expect Lawrence to give Etienne the ball in a QB read situation and Etienne punches it in for six.

  • The Secondary Shows Up

Despite giving up a few blown coverages, the secondary is going to play well. I think you’ll see the Tigers pressure Kellen Mond up front and the secondary will take advantage of that. Expect a multiple interception day from the Texas A&M quarterback.
