Honestly, 16.5 points seems about right for this one coming into it. Everyone was impressed by Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond and his ability to sling the ball in the Aggies’ season-opener, but that was against Texas State. Mond had a huge game against the Tigers last season, but he still shows some deficiencies in the passing game if Clemson can get pressure and force him to make tight throws.
Texas A&M will come into this one ranked just outside the top-10, looking to make a statement early in the season. In Clemson’s first game, the Tigers looked solid defensively and elite in the rushing game, but had a subpar outing in the passing game. I’d expect to see them fix some of those problems and look much crisper in this one.
Clemson has more talent, depth and this one is at home. Texas A&M will certainly be motivated, though.

This is a game that will likely be close for the majority of the first half and into the second half before Clemson football begins to methodically take control and put it away in the fourth quarter. It won’t be a comfortable 52-14 victory, for sure, but the Tigers certainly have the talent to come away with the victory and improve to 2-0 on the season.
