Wake Forest had one of the most fascinating quarterback battles this offseason with Jamie Newman and Sam Hartman before Newman eventually won the job.

Both quarterbacks are certainly capable of leading the Demon Deacons to a bowl game and potentially being an upward-trending program in the ACC. Wake Forest is going to have one of the top offenses in the conference this season and that all will start with Newman, assuming he holds on to the job.

Newman took over the starting job midseason last year and threw for 1,083 yards and nine touchdowns to four interceptions while also rushing for 247 yards and four touchdowns.

He’s a dual-threat quarterback that is set up to take a huge step forward this season in that up-tempo spread Demon Deacon offense.
