The 2019 Clemson football team is expected to be a favorite to get back to the CFB Playoff. Here are five X-factors for the upcoming season.

The last time we saw the Clemson football program on a competitive field of play, the Tigers were beating the Alabama Crimson Tide 44-16 on their way to a second National Championship in the past three seasons.

It was a glorious celebration for Clemson football fans, who got to celebrate seeing their team completely thrash their opponent and hoist the golden scepter in front of the eyes of the nation.

The Tigers were led by several stars, including veterans like Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, Hunter Renfrow, Mitch Hyatt and Kendall Joseph.

They were also led by many young stars who are still on the team this season, including Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross, AJ Terrell and several others. Today, we’re not here to talk necessarily about those stars. Instead, we’re here to talk X-Factors.

An X-Factor is a guy that will be relied upon to make a major impact even though many may be overlooking him. Though those stars will make an impact and will be relied upon for the Tigers to repeat as National Champions, there are many other players who are set to make the same impact but haven’t been highlighted as much.

In some cases, these X-Factors are widely-discussed Clemson football players, but they’ll be taking on a much larger role this season.

Here are our five X-Factors for the upcoming Clemson football season.
