3-star WR Ajou Ajou committed to the Clemson football program this weekend as part of the All-In Cookout. Here’s what the WR brings to the Tigers.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class received its first wide receiver commitment of the cycle this past weekend when 3-star WR Ajou Ajou officially announced his decision.

Ajou, a native of Canada, moved down to Florida to play his final year of high school football. He had been trending to the Tigers for quite some time and made that decision official this weekend at the All-In Cookout.

Ajou is a bit behind as far as football is concerned because he just started playing the sport less than a couple of years ago, but the coaches absolutely fell in love with his raw athleticism and talent at their camp back in June.

Ajou, a 6-foot-4, 200 pound athlete, has an 83 inch wingspan and absolutely is a gem in a class that just doesn’t possess typical wide receiver talent.

Analysis:

Ajou has all the traits to develop into a special wide receiver.

The Clemson football coaching staff didn’t offer him thinking that he’d step on campus right away and become an instant star, rather they want to develop him and see him as a promising project.

Ajou’s freakish athleticism and size make him a marvel at the position. Though his experience in the sport is little, it’s clear that he has all the raw attributes that the Tiger coaching staff wants to see in a prospect.

The coaches were reportedly a little disappointed in what they saw out of the 2020 wide receiver class as a whole. When they finally got film and scouted Ajou, they lighted up at the opportunity to get the 3-star prospect on campus.

Before this cycle comes to a close, there’s a solid chance that Ajou is upgraded to a 4-star wide receiver. He’s going to enroll on campus already with an impressive physical stature, but it will be up to the coaching staff how they develop him mentally and what they do with his skillset.
