The Clemson football team absolutely dominated the 2019 preseason All-ACC team, earning a total of 13 spots which was good enough for about half.

The 2019 preseason All-ACC team was released Tuesday afternoon and there was a ton of representation from the Clemson football program.

The Tigers, who are coming off four-straight ACC titles, had a total of 13 players included on a squad of 27 overall.

Clemson led the way offensively with eight selections (there are only 13) and also had five selections on the defensive side of the ball. Here’s a look at the Clemson football players selected by unit.

Offense:

  • Trevor Lawrence, QB
  • Travis Etienne, RB
  • Tee Higgins, WR
  • Justyn Ross, WR
  • Tremayne Anchrum, OT
  • John Simpson, OG
  • Gage Cervenka, OG
  • Sean Pollard, C

Offensively, the Tigers possess four of the five starters on the line and then have four skill position players on the team. That’s absolutely insane to have that kind of talent in a returning group.

Defense:

  • Xavier Thomas, DE
  • Nyles Pinckney, DT
  • AJ Terrell, CB
  • Isaiah Simmons, LB
  • Tanner Muse, S

Defensively, Xavier Thomas and Nyles Pinckney were both named to the team despite not being starters last season. Both guys were key reserves for the defense in 2018, though.

Isaiah Simmons, Tanner Muse and AJ Terrell all return as starters for the Tigers and help compose that defensive backfield for the All-ACC team.

Overall, you’ve got to be impressed with the amount of talent that Clemson football has in its arsenal. There could also be an argument made for Jackson Carman (OT), but he hasn’t gotten much exposure yet as well as K’Von Wallace (S) in the defensive backfield.

There’s certainly a chance that the All-ACC numbers could rise when the final team is released this winter. The Tigers are set up to be one of the top teams in America and have the talent to dominate the conference.
