Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses raised a few eyebrows when he questioned if Clemson football was truly better than the Tide in 2018.

Despite the final score of 44-16, Alabama LB Dylan Moses isn’t sure that Clemson football was the best team in the nation in 2018.

Moses spoke with members of the media at SEC Media Days on Wednesday and had some interesting takes on the National Championship, which saw the Tide absolutely dismantled in front of the nation by a talented Clemson football team.

Moses said that the loss had more to do with lack of preparation on Alabama’s part rather than Clemson’s dominance or skill.

"“It was more preparation,” he said via Saturday Down South. “I wouldn’t say they were a better team.”"

After questioning the Tigers, Moses went on to say that the toughest team he has ever faced in college is Georgia- not Clemson.

"“Georgia is definitely the hardest team I have played in college,” Moses said."

While it certainly should be noted that Georgia has been a tough opponent for Alabama each of the last two years, it’s a direct slap in the face of the Clemson football program to not give any respect to an opponent that just blasted you by 28 points.

As a matter of fact, the Tigers could’ve won by more had Dabo Swinney not taken his foot off the gas.

It’s been really surprising and a bit disappointing to hear the narrative coming from Nick Saban’s camp over the past couple of days. Of course we expected the SEC media to harp on fake narratives of “distractions” and “what-ifs” but to hear Saban and his players making excuses and absolutely dismissing the Clemson loss as if it didn’t happen is surprising.

More and more, it seems that the Alabama football program just doesn’t know how to lose with class. They’ve been so good for so long that they can’t come to grips with a team just being better than them. If you watch the National Championship game, it’s clear that Clemson football was the better team.

The Tigers- from top to bottom- were just better than the Tide and it showed on the field.

Next. Even Nick Saban is making excuses. dark

Things can change this season and the tide might swing back in Alabama’s favor, but the attitude and narratives coming from the football program at Media Days certainly doesn’t sound like championship material. Instead, it sounds more like a program beginning to collapse and trying to maintain a “nothing to see here” kind of attitude.

Alabama is very good and they are still recruiting at a high level, but Clemson was better last season and there’s no question about it.
