One of the greatest reasons for the success of the Clemson football program has to do with the continuity and experience of the coaching staff.

It’s a point that every Clemson football fan has heard time and time again, but it should never be forgotten: What Dabo Swinney has been able to do with his coaching staff is unprecedented.

While every single program around the country is seeing massive turnover in their coaching staffs each season, Clemson football has been able to keep its coaches for several years.

The Tigers have maintained the best Defensive Coordinator in the nation in Brent Venables, as well as two of the best Co-Offensive Coordinators in the country in Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott.

When you have that kind of consistency in the coaching staff, it absolutely helps in recruiting and development.

While Nick Saban has had a constant changing landscape with his coaching staff, Dabo Swinney has had the opportunity to build a relationship with his staff and show the family atmosphere that Clemson football presents to prospects.

Interestingly enough, Elliott, Scott and Venables have all had opportunities to leave for head coaching jobs, but have chosen to stay.

One of the most underrated coaches on the staff has been Brandon Streeter. Streeter has been an excellent recruiter and is set up to be the next Offensive Coordinator when Scott or Elliott do choose to move on to the next stage of their careers.

Not only does continuity in the coaching staff helping with recruiting and development of players, it also allows Swinney to set a standard and goal within his staff.
