The future for Clemson football at OL looks bright. Many times causal fans overlook the position, but no one can dispute the importance in the trenches.

The future along the offensive line looks bright for Clemson football.

Lost in the shuffle of 5-star commitment after 5-star commitment in the 2020 class is the fact that the Tigers have five 4-star commitments on the offensive line.

Early on in the cycle, this was a major talking point. People were impressed with what the Tigers were doing on the offensive line and how they were seemingly stockpiling and building depth at the position. However, as the cycle progressed and we started to see stars like DJ Uiagalelei, Myles Murphy, Bryan Bresee and Demarkcus Bowman commit, the spotlight was turned on them.

The spotlight being on the 5-star athletes is for good reason. Uiagalelei is a potential No. 1 overall pick a future NFL Draft at quarterback. Myles Murphy is an explosive edge-rusher. Bryan Bresee is the perfect blend of power and athleticism. Demarkcus Bowman is a homerun threat at running back. The list goes on.

As we continue to look at the talent that Clemson football has stockpiled in this 2020 class, we shouldn’t forget that the most important part potentially may be those offensive linemen.

All five of the OL commitments are 4-stars. Walker Parks (OT), Mitchell Mayes (OG), Paul Tchio (OG), Bryn Tucker (OG) and John Williams (OT) are all really talented linemen that will be able to make an impact for the Tigers. When you mix these guys in with the players that are already on campus, you’re going to be talking about one of the deepest offensive line units in the country.

At some point in the next couple of years, there’s potential that these five guys could be the five starters for the Tigers. Can you imagine five 4-stars all playing alongside each other on the same offensive line? Well, it’s about to happen.

Next. Balance will be the theme for the 2019 offense. dark

The one area that Clemson hasn’t ever been able to stockpile a bunch of talent- as far as star-ratings are concerned- was on the offensive line. That is a thing of the past now, though.
