Yahoo Sports released its CFB Fantasy Draft board for the 2019 season and included several Clemson football players among the rankings.

The panel of experts listed their top 380 players from around the nation in terms of fantasy sports, which is won by collecting stats.

Though there are several Clemson football players listed, it’s clear that the players in the program see their fantasy grades dip a little compared to the rest of the nation because of the expected blowouts that could occur this season for the Tigers.

Here’s a look at where the Clemson football players rank overall and at their position, according to the CFB Fantasy Draft rankings.

  • Travis Etienne (No. 2 overall, No. 1 RB)
  • Trevor Lawrence (No. 13 overall, No. 5 QB)
  • Justyn Ross (No. 17 overall, No. 7 WR)
  • Tee Higgins (No. 27 overall, No. 9 WR)
  • Clemson Defense (No. 64 overall, No. 3 Defense)
  • Lyn-J Dixon (No. 267 overall, No. 76 RB)
  • JC Chalk (No. 309 overall, No. 41 TE)
  • BT Potter (No. 352 overall, No. 21 K)

Thoughts:

As we said in a previous article, Trevor Lawrence at No. 13 is too low. There’s no reason- even in terms of stats- that he should be the No. 5 QB on the draft board. Lawrence is going to throw for 4,000-plus yards and most likely will keep his interception numbers low.

Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins are both likely candidates to be top wide receivers in the country and there’s certainly a chance both could have more than 1,000 receiving yards.

In terms of respect, the Clemson defense is ranked as the No. 3 overall defense in the nation just behind Alabama and Georgia. That’s pretty impressive considering what the Tigers lost from last season.

Lyn-J Dixon would certainly be an underrated option for those looking for a running back that will put up stats as a second-stringer and BT Potter could prove to put up a lot of points because of extra points and the amount of times the Tigers will score this season.

Some Tigers left off that could’ve been considered include Derion Kendrick, Frank Ladson, Joseph Ngata and Diondre Overton all at wide receiver.
