Clemson Football: Madden 2020 ratings released for Tiger rookies
The player ratings for Madden 2020 have been released, which features several Clemson football rookies. Here’s a look at their ratings.
Clemson football saw three players taken in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. DE Clelin Ferrell, DT Christian Wilkins and DT Dexter Lawrence were all taken within the first 17 draft picks.
In addition to Ferrell, Wilkins and Lawrence, several other Clemson football players were taken in the draft and given undrafted free agent contracts heading into summer camp.
One of the big days for football fans each year is when the popular Madden football game is released. Here’s a look at the starting ratings for the Clemson football rookies in Madden 2020.
- Dexter Lawrence: 76
- Christian Wilkins: 75
- Clelin Ferrell: 74
- Hunter Renfrow: 70
- Trayvon Mullen: 69
- Austin Bryant: 66
- Albert Huggins: 63
- Tre Lamar: 62
Honestly, I think Ferrell, Lawrence and Wilkins should all be higher than in the mid-70s. Ferrell was taken with the No. 4 overall pick and still only has a 74 rating. That’s extremely low. Of course, the highest-rated rookie is Alabama’s Quinnen Williams, who is rated as an 80 overall. Houston’s Ed Oliver is second with a rating of 79.
It should be interesting to see how many of these guys progress in their NFL careers. All three of those first-rounders are staunchly underrated. Many believe Ferrell didn’t deserve to go inside the top-10.
Christian Wilkins has several defensive tackles rated ahead of him, but is going to prove to be a dominant force inside and, honestly, Dexter Lawrence has the ability to develop into the best two-down defensive tackle in the game.
Hunter Renfrow at 70 is probably about right, but an 85 catch rating is low. It’s tough to start a rookie much higher than that, but Renfrow has proven that he has some of the best hands in all of CFB and that will continue in the NFL.
The player ratings for the rest of NFL will be released later for Madden 2020. Expect DeAndre ‘Nuk’ Hopkins to be the highest-rated former Clemson football player in the video game.
