If you haven’t seen the news yet, Clemson football wide receiver Amari Rodgers posted last week on Twitter that he was cleared to run.

Clemson football wide receiver Amari Rodgers reported on Twitter last week that he was cleared to run, a mark that wasn’t expected to be reached for at least another month or two if you look at typical standards.

Rodgers also posted that he’d be at 100 percent in two and a half months, which means that he is expecting to be back right around the second or third week of September. If this is truly the case, Rodgers would be back, most likely, before the Tigers got more than four games into the season.

Though it’s exciting to hear that the Clemson football wide receiver is well ahead of schedule, it still should be expected that the Tiger training staff will take their time before officially clearing him for action.

Though Rodgers expects to be back and 100 percent active in two and a half months, the training staff may hold him a little longer than that to make sure that he is truly ready. The last thing that you want is to rush a player back and then risk another injury or furthering an injury that hasn’t truly been completely rehabbed.

At this point, though, it’s hard to imagine that the Tigers are going to have to wait too long for Rodgers’ return.

Many expected him to miss the entire season and, perhaps, return for the final game of the regular season against South Carolina and play in the postseason, which could include an ACC Championship and two potential games in the CFB Playoff should the Tigers get a spot this season.

Now, it’s looking more and more like Rodgers may be back by the middle point of the season and legitimately has a shot at being a key contributor, not just in the postseason, but in the regular season.

It’s still too early to tell and football is a game with high impact, which will also slow down his return, but it’s certainly good news for Tiger fans wanting to see Rodgers return to the gridiron.
