Clemson football commit Kobe Pryor, originally a 3-star prospect, has moved up the rankings in the latest Rivals.com Recruiting Rankings.

One of Clemson football’s latest commitments is getting a bit of a push from Rivals.com.

Kobe Pryor, a 247 Sports’ Composite 3-star running back, committed to the Tigers back in May, becoming the second running back to commit in the class.

In Rivals’ updated look at the 2020 recruiting rankings, Pryor has moved up to a 4-star running back. He joins talented 5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman at the position.

Pryor is now ranked as the No. 31 running back in the nation according to the 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings and the No. 15 running back in the country according to Rivals.com.

Thoughts:

Pryor is trending up recruiting boards, and for good reason. He’s not a guy that will blow a defender away with elite speed, but he gets his yardage in a different way.

Pryor isn’t afraid to dish out contact. He’s a hard-nose north-and-south runner that will be used especially short yardage situations.

He doesn’t quite have the top-end speed, but he reminds me a bit of Nick Chubb as far as running style is concerned.

Pryor is the perfect complement to Demarkcus Bowman in this 2020 recruiting cycle. Bowman is an explosive runner who is a threat to take it to the house any time he touches the ball. When you mix that kind of elite runner with a hard-nosed power-back, you’ve got a great balance in the backfield for years to come.

Expect to see Pryor continue to move up recruiting rankings over the next few months. I think he has the potential to develop into a consensus 4-star running back before the rankings come to a close, especially if he has a good fall this coming season.
