Clemson football returns an absolutely insane amount offensive skill coming into the 2019 season. The Tigers are completely loaded in that respect.

This may be the understatement of the year, but Clemson football is going to be really good along the skill positions in 2019.

The Tigers don’t just have plenty of promising talent at the spots, but they have a ton of returning experience with guys that made big impacts in the National Championship last season.

As the Clemson football program approaches the 2019 season, it’s clear that the Tigers have plenty of skill position players to keep an opposing defensive coordinator awake at night.

Elite Returning Skill:

Leading the skill position players is sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence won the starting job as a freshman and led the Tigers to an undefeated 15-0 season with a National Championship. He was named the Offensive MVP of the National Championship game.

Lawrence also has the nation’s best backup quarterback behind him in Chase Brice, who shouldn’t be forgotten.

At wide receiver, Clemson returns the best duo in the country in Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross. Both wide receivers proved that they were un-guardable last season and will only get better with another year under their belts. There’s also plenty of depth behind them, including Diondre Overton, Derion Kendrick (who will play some cornerback this season as well), Cornell Powell, TJ Chase, and talented true-freshmen Frank Ladson and Joseph Ngata.

If that weren’t enough, the Tigers return one of the nation’s top running backs in Travis Etienne. Etienne is expected to be a Heisman candidate- alongside Trevor Lawrence- this season. Lyn-J Dixon will fill in at that second-string spot at running back, meaning that Etienne and Dixon could combine to present one of the best 1-2 punches at running back in the nation.

Next. Tiger defense will be just fine in 2019. dark

All of this combined spells trouble for opposing defenses. There’s just too many weapons for anyone to be able to shut down the Tiger offense this season.
