Over the course of the next month, we will give you a breakdown of each 2019 Clemson football freshman. Here’s a look at offensive lineman Kaleb Boateng.

The 2019 Clemson football freshman class had a total of 29 prospects sign and 17 of them enroll mid-year.

One of those mid-year enrollees was offensive lineman Kaleb Boateng.

Boateng, a 3-star offensive lineman from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, committed to Clemson football back in December after getting an offer from the Tigers just a week earlier.

Boateng stands tall at 6-foot-5 and weighs around 290 pounds. Here’s a look at his talent analysis and what Tiger fans can expect from the offensive lineman when it’s all said and done.

Talent Analysis:

Most likely, Boateng projects on the interior of the offensive line as a collegiate athlete. He doesn’t have the fastest feet and will need to work on his lateral movement and technique, but certainly has some solid attributes that can be molded.

One of the most impressive things about his film is the number of pancake blocks he comes away with. Though the competition isn’t elite, Boateng is able to flatten his opponent consistently and has elite strength.

That strength and power is what earned him an offer from Clemson football.

Though he’s just 290 pounds right now, the coaching staff could see the promising power and what he could potentially turn into once he is developed.

Boateng will need to put on some weight to play inside, but is already getting a head start on some of his competition by enrolling early.

Immediate Impact?

Boateng will likely redshirt this season and spend the vast majority of this year in the weight room. The Tigers will lose John Simpson, Gage Cervenka and Sean Pollard next season, which means there will be some openings at both starter positions and in the two-deep next season for him to compete for playing time.
