Several commits in the 2020 Clemson football recruiting class were given an invitation to compete at The Opening Finals later this summer.

No program had more commitments invited to The Opening Finals than Clemson football.

Currently, the Tigers possess the No. 1 overall class in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Clemson football has 16 commitments in the class, broken down with five 5-stars, 10 4-stars and one 3-star. The class currently has 290.06 total points, which is nearly 30 points better than the No. 2 class in the country in LSU (263.09). The average star rating also leads the nation with an average of 95.41.

Because of all the talent in the class, it’s no surprise to see commits performing well.

The Opening camp puts on regional combines at different places throughout the country during the spring. At each regional, the combine selects the top performers to move on to compete at The Opening Finals, which will be held in Frisco, Texas from June 30 to July 3.

The Tigers had a grand total of 11 players invited to The Opening Finals.

Thoughts:

For those of you that don’t know, The Opening is a prestigious high school combine that deals with some of the best prospects from around the nation. Athletes are tested according to their skills, as well as their measurables and physical attributes.

5-star DL Bryan Bresee, 5-star DE Myles Murphy, 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei, 5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman, 5-star DB Fred Davis, 4-star S RJ Mickens, 4-star DT Demonte Capehart, 4-star DT Tre Williams, 4-star OL Mitchell Mayes, 4-star OL Paul Tchio and 4-star OL Walker Parks were all invited to the finals.

In the event, offensive linemen will battle against one another with the top five being crowned. DJ Uiagalelei will compete against 10 other quarterbacks at the Elite-11 event to see who is named the top QB of the class.

Next. Clemson commit Walker Parks tests off the charts. dark

The Tiger commits are expected to perform very well. There’s a solid chance that Demarkcus Bowman finishes as the top running back, while a couple of Tiger offensive linemen make the final five. Both Bryan Bresee and Myles Murphy looked impressive in their respective regionals and there’s no reason to expect anything different in the finals.

Uiagalelei has the strongest arm in the class, without a doubt, and that will be on display during the event.
