Clemson Football: Tiger commit Walker Parks tests off the charts
4-star Clemson football commit Walker Parks competed at the Nike Opening Regional in Nashville and finished as the top-rated lineman in attendance.
4-star Clemson football commit Walker Parks is going to be a special offensive lineman for the Tigers.
Parks, who is a part of the stellar 2020 Clemson football recruiting class that features five talented 4-star commitments on the offensive line, competed at the Nike Opening Regional in Nashville this past weekend.
The results were what you’d expect from an offensive lineman of his caliber.
Parks finished the day as the top-rated lineman in attendance with an overall football rating of 102.27. He put up 7970 watts in the Peak Power drill (99th percentile) and went 46 feet with the Power Ball (99th percentile).
Because of his performance, Parks was invited to the finals of The Opening this summer. He joins a whole list of Clemson football commits that will be competing at the combine, including 5-star DL Bryan Bresee, 5-star DE Myles Murphy, 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei, 5-star DB Fred Davis, 4-star DB RJ Mickens, 4-star DT Demonte Capehart, 4-star DT Tre Williams, 4-star OL Mitchell Mayes and 4-star OL Paul Tchio.
Analysis:
Parks will compete with fellow offensive line commitments Mitchell Mayes and Paul Tchio at the finals. All three of those guys are extremely talented and have the ability to develop into NFL-caliber offensive linemen before it’s all said and done.
Parks is a talented offensive tackle with a good mixture of power and foot speed. He projects- most likely- to the right tackle position because of his power and physicality. He’s got good length and his measurables (6-foot-6, 271 pounds) are exactly what you want to see from an offensive lineman entering his senior season of HS football.
There’s plenty of room for growth and development with Parks, but he’s certainly not just a raw talent coming out of high school.
