Clemson Football: How do you pronounce ‘DJ Uiagalelei?’
5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei announced his commitment for Clemson football Sunday. How do you pronounce the talented prospect’s last name?
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in the history of CFB.
The Tigers have now garnered commitments from four 5-stars over the past month and they don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei joined a class that already features 5-stars Bryan Bresee, Fred Davis and Demarkcus Bowman with the hopes of becoming the next big leader of the Tigers’ offense.
Though there’s no questioning Uiagalelei’s talent, skill, athleticism, arm strength, character or leadership abilities, there is a major question that looms large over the Clemson football fan base when speaking of DJ Uiagalelei.
And it’s his last name.
How does one pronounce ‘DJ Uiagalelei?’
Ooie-anga-la-LAY
The name is said fast and altogether, just as we pronounce any other word.
One thing’s for certain: Though many Clemson football fans are still learning how to say the talented quarterback prospect’s name, it won’t be long before he is recognized across the country. That ‘Uiagalelei’ name is going to become a household name.
He has the talent to be the top quarterback taken in the NFL Draft several years from now. When I watch his film, Uiagalelei actually may have a stronger arm than Trevor Lawrence, who has the strongest arm in all of College Football currently. He is extremely talented and is going to make a splash very early on in his career.
It will be exciting to see how the rest of this 2020 Clemson football recruiting class progresses and what the rest of the targets in this cycle think about the Tigers after landing the top quarterback in the country.
