5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman announced his commitment to Clemson football Friday afternoon, becoming the third 5-star to commit.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class just continues to get better and better.

On Friday, 5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman announced that he would be committing to the Clemson football program.

With his announcement, Bowman became the 13th commit in the 2020 Clemson football recruiting class and the third 5-star, according to the 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Bowman announced his decision in a bit of a unique way, with a video giving respect to his family and friends and letting people know what school he was going to through EA Sport’s NCAA Football.

Bowman told reporters a couple of months ago that Clemson was his favorite, but that he wasn’t quite sure when he’d be ready to make a decision.

Thoughts:

247 Sports had Florida as the favorite to win his services according to their crystal ball, but it was the Tigers that proved victorious.

With his commitment, Clemson football moved back to No. 1 in the 247 Sports’ Composite Team Rankings.

Bowman joins fellow 5-stars Bryan Bresee and Fred Davis in the class.

He is an extremely explosive running back and, as we said a couple of weeks earlier, has the ability to come in and compete right away.

Next. Myles Murphy moves up decision date. dark

Most likely, the Tigers will lose Travis Etienne at the end of this season to the NFL Draft. That will leave an opening for Bowman to come in and compete with Lyn-J Dixon, Chez Mellusi and Michel Dukes for playing time and carries as a true-freshman.
