Clemson Football: How does Bresee’s decision affect 2020 recruiting?
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is currently rated as No. 1 in the nation after the addition of 5-star DL Bryan Bresee’s commitment.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The Tigers received their first commitment from a 247 Sports’ Composite 5-star when defensive lineman Bryan Bresee announced his decision last week during a school ceremony.
Bresee is currently ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the composite rankings, and for good reason.
As we said in our analysis of Bresee, his playing style is similar to that of JJ Watt. Bresee is going to be the most talented high school defensive lineman to come to the Clemson football program, perhaps ever.
With his commitment, many of the top prospects from around the nation took notice.
So, it brings up the question: How will Bresee’s decision affect the rest of top 2020 prospects who are currently considering Clemson football?
First, I think we need to look at the position. Bresee will most likely play inside, so that won’t affect the defensive ends as much, but he could play outside if needed.
The Tigers are pretty much set at defensive tackle, but are currently recruiting two other defensive ends heavily. 5-star DE Jordan Burch and 5-star DE Myles Murphy are strongly considering Clemson, and I think the Tigers probably lead for Murphy.
Burch has been trending towards South Carolina, but his recruitment will continue for quite a few more months.
5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei is being recruited hard, not just by the Clemson football coaching staff, but by Bresee and all five of the offensive line commitments in the 2020 class.
In the end, each recruit is going to make their own personal decision, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to see that you’d be joining the No. 1 player in the nation if you so choose to commit to the Tigers.
