3. Best is the Standard

Here’s a phrase you can find posted all over the brand new football facility.

‘Best is the Standard’ is a way of life in the Clemson football program. The Tigers seek to never play down to an opponent or strive to just win a game. Instead, they want to set a standard of being the best that they can be.

Sometimes, that may mean losing. Other times, it may even mean winning a game by less points than what they probably should. Why? Because the coaches are focused on completely building the best program as possible. That means allowing young guys to play and sacrificing points at times.

The standard has been set for the program and it’s something that Dabo Swinney and his staff live by.
