Clemson Football: Top 10 NFL Draft Picks of All-Time
3. Sammy Watkins
Sammy Watkins was one of the most electric play-makers to ever don a Clemson football uniform.
Watkins was dynamic and had the ability to take the ball to the house any time he touched it. He proved time and time again that he was the fastest man on the field and developed into a strong athlete that allowed him to be the first wide receiver taken in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Watkins was drafted with the No. 4 overall pick by the Buffalo Bills.
Unfortunately, his NFL career hasn’t quite panned out as one would’ve hoped, but Watkins has had staying power in the league.
He played his first three seasons with the Bills before playing one year with the LA Rams and one with the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is the first of three Clemson football players in a three-way tie for the highest selection in the NFL Draft in program history.
