5. Bobby Gage

Bobby Gage ties with Jeff Bryant in terms of draft pick selection.

Gage was taken as the No. 6 overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it happened in 1949 nearly four decades before Jeff Bryant.

Gage was a versatile football player who played quarterback, tailback, defensive back and returner. He ultimately retired after two years in the NFL to devote more time with his family and to focus on his growing textile business.

He left the Clemson football program as one of the best Tigers to ever play.
