Clemson Football: Where is every Tiger projected to go in the NFL Draft?
Several former Clemson football players are projected to be taken in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft. Here’s where the latest mock draft has them falling.
We are just a couple of days out from seeing a ton of Clemson football fan favorites being taken in the 2019 NFL Draft.
CBS Sports released its latest 7-round NFL Mock Draft and had several Tigers being taken.
As we approach the start of the draft, here’s a look at where each former Clemson football player is being projected to fall in the upcoming event, according to CBS Sports.
First Round:
- Clelin Ferrell (No. 17 to the New York Giants)
- Dexter Lawrence (No. 19 to the Tennessee Titans)
- Christian Wilkins (No. 26 to the Indianapolis Colts)
Personally, I think No. 26 is way too low for Christian Wilkins. I think we see Wilkins off the board before pick No. 20.
Dexter Lawrence at No. 19 is a bit higher than most mock drafts have typically had him at, but I could definitely see him going to the Titans and being a good fit in Tennessee.
Mid Rounds (3-5):
- Trayvon Mullen (3rd round- pick No. 67 to the San Franciso 49ers)
- Tre Lamar (4th round- pick No. 122 to the Pittsburgh Steelers)
- Austin Bryant (4th round- pick No. 136 to the Dallas Cowboys)
- Mark Fields (5th round- pick No. 145 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
- Hunter Renfrow (5th round- pick No. 155 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
The Tigers don’t have anyone selected in the second round according to the mock draft, but Trayvon Mullen is one of the first picks of the third round.
Tre Lamar and Austin Bryant in the fourth round sound about right and I really like Bryant to the Cowboys. Hunter Renfrow and Mark Fields as teammates could be a fun tandem in Tampa Bay.
Late Rounds (6-7):
- Albert Huggins (6th round- pick No. 179 to the Arizona Cardinals)
- Mitch Hyatt (6th round- pick No. 190 to the Jacksonville Jaguars)
Both Huggins and Hyatt will be taken in the late rounds. Hyatt could potentially jump up draft boards and be an earlier pick than the mid-sixth round.
I fully expect Albert Huggins to be taken in the sixth round as teams look for players with potential that can make the team and develop over the next couple of seasons.
Other notable former Clemson football players not taken in the mock draft are Kendall Joseph, Judah Davis, JD Davis, Milan Richard, Greg Huegel and Justin Falcinelli.
Joseph is expected to be a high-priority undrafted free agent and I believe that you’ll see Justin Falcinelli get an offer, as well.
