Clemson Football: 5-star DJ Uiagalelei enjoys Oregon visit, will announce in May
5-star Clemson football target DJ Uiagalelei took what most likely will be his final college visit before making a decision this past weekend.
One of the top targets in the 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei.
Uiagalelei, a talented multi-sport athlete from California, made an extended visit to Tiger Town a couple of weeks ago for the Clemson football spring game.
He and many family members arrived in Clemson Wednesday evening and stayed through the weekend, taking in everything that Tiger Town had to offer.
This past weekend, Uiagalelei made a planned trip to Oregon.
From all accounts, the nation’s No. 1 QB enjoyed his time in Eugene and was impressed with the Oregon program.
Uiagalelei told Tigernet that he was extremely comfortable at Oregon and really liked getting to sit down with former Duck quarterbacks Marcus Mariota and Jeremiah Masoli. The 5-star QB said he plans to make a decision in May, most likely, and that he has an idea where he wants to go to school.
Thoughts:
Clemson has been considered the favorite for quite some time and I think that’s still the case after Uiagalelei’s trip to Oregon.
Of course you would expect him to have a great time at a program where he knows several of the athletes and has been recruiting him hard for an extended period of time now.
In the end, Uiagalelei said that he is going to sit back with his family and weigh the pros and cons of each school before announcing a decision date.
Once he gets away from the visits, he’ll be able to rationalize and come away with a decision that makes the most sense for him and his family.
In other recruiting news, fellow 5-star 2020 prospect Bryan Bresee, a Clemson football target, will announce his decision Tuesday.
