Clemson Football: Top 2021 Recruiting Class Targets revealed
Recruiting never ends for Clemson football. Here’s a look at some of the Tigers’ top prospects and targets in the 2021 class.
247 Sports’ released its first expanded rankings for the 2021 class earlier this week, revealing its first crack at the top-100 for the cycle.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is shaping up to be the best in school history. The Tigers already have commitments from 11 247 Sports’ Composite 4-stars and are eyeing several other talented prospects.
The 2021 class is just now starting to get serious consideration, though. Typically, you don’t see Clemson football coaches begin offering too many scholarships until later in the summer as these kids are still currently sophomores.
However, there are several top prospects that will are showing interest in Clemson football early. Here’s a look at some of those players that will be targeted by the Tigers and where they rank in terms of 247 Sports’ first 2021 player rankings.
- Tony Grimes, 5-star CB (No. 27 overall, No. 3 CB)
- Micah Morris, 4-star OT (No. 46 overall, No. 9 OT)
- Dylan Brooks, 5-star DE (No. 26 overall, No. 3 DE)
- Katron Evans, 4-star DT (No. 145 overall, No. 8 DT)
- Ga’Quincky McKinstry, 5-star CB (No. 7 overall, No. 2 CB)
- Gabe Stephens, 4-star CB (No. 121 overall, No. 10 CB)
- Julian Nixon, 4-star WR (No. 129, No. 20 WR)
- Landyn Watson, 4-star DE
These are just a few of the top targets in the way-too-early look at the 2021 Clemson football recruiting class.
Many of these guys are talented players, but we won’t know the true top targets until we see these prospects begin to take multiple visits. It gives the coaching staff a chance to look at them and determine if they’re a fit for the program or not.
The big board will become clearer with the Tigers as we get into the summer and, especially, into the fall. There’s great potential Clemson signs another great class in 2021 with the influx of talent that the Tigers are bringing in 2020.
