Clemson Football: 4-star RB Daniyel Ngata names his favorite
4-star Clemson football target Daniyel Ngata named the Tigers his favorite after visiting for the spring game this past weekend.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class picked up two more commitments in the last few days on the defensive side of the ball.
The Tigers garnered commitments from two 247 Sports’ Composite 4-star defensive backs in RJ Mickens and Fred Davis. Both of those guys are rated 5-stars by other services and will move up to 5-stars in the 247 Sports’ Composite rankings before it’s all said and done, in my opinion.
There are still plenty of prospects that the Clemson football coaches will have their collective eyes on as we head into the summer.
One of those names is 4-star running back Daniyel Ngata.
Ngata, a 4-star running back from Folsom, California, told The Clemson Insider after his visit that the Tigers were his top school.
Ngata is the brother of Clemson football freshman Joseph Ngata, who had a nice spring game in his debut in front of the Tiger faithful.
He is ranked as the No. 2 all-purpose back in the nation and the No. 68 overall player in the country.
One of the key attributes for Ngata is his versatility. He’s a guy that you can hand the ball off to and he’s also a running back that has the hands to catch the ball out of the backfield and make a play in open space.
With a 0.9615 rating by 247 Sports, Ngata would be higher-rated than both Travis Etienne (0.9171) and Lyn-J Dixon (0.9077). Right now, it would seem that Washington would be the competition for his services.
Ngata has offers from most major CFB programs, including Alabama, LSU, USC and Michigan.
He is one of three running backs that the Tigers are recruiting heavily at this point. The other two are Florida RBs Demarkcus Bowman (5-star) and Jaylan Knighton (4-star), who have both named the Tigers their leader at this point.
