Round 1

The first player off the board should be DT Christian Wilkins (6’-4”, 300 pounds). With his explosiveness up the middle, he could be taken with pick number 11 by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals were dead last in the league in total yards allowed last season and 29th in rushing yards allowed with 137.8 yards per game average. Their focus in the draft will be defense and especially an attempt to beef up the defensive line.

Wilkins checks every box to in order to help Cincinnati. He has that swift first step straight off the snap to penetrate the backfield, great leverage abilities and is very strong. Wilkins could also go to the Minnesota Vikings with the 18th pick if the Bengals go after a TE instead.

Next up is his linemate DE Clelin Ferrell (6’-5”, 260 pounds). He could go as high as number 13 to the Miami Dolphins.

However, the Dolphins are probably looking for a future QB and it all depends on what happens in the top half of the first-round whether they take one or focus on the defensive line.

If Miami does indeed make a move for a signalcaller, expect the Tennessee Titans to take Ferrell with the 19th overall pick or the Kansas City Chiefs with pick #29. Ferrell is a sure tackler and a very hard worker. His hand techniques and strength are arguably his most prominent assets and is considered an every-down player.
