The Clemson football spring game will take place this Saturday afternoon in Death Valley. Here’s our prediction for the scrimmage.
The Clemson football team will host its final session of the spring this Saturday afternoon in Death Valley.
The scrimmage is open to the public and around 60,000 people are expected to be in attendance for the event.
The team has been split into two distinct squads- The Orange Team and the White Team.
The Orange Team is led by players like Trevor Lawrence, Xavier Thomas, Tee Higgins and Isaiah Simmons. The White Team is led by Chase Brice, Travis Etienne, Justyn Ross and AJ Terrell.
As we head into the 2019 Orange & White Spring Game, here is our final analysis and scoring prediction for the afternoon.
Analysis:
Overall, you can’t read too much into anything that happens in a Spring Game, and we all know that. However, a Spring Game can give us signs as to what to expect moving forward. There are several players that we’ll be watching to see how or if they’ve improved and what the team looks like overall.
One of the most intriguing matchups, in my opinion, will happen along the lines of scrimmage. LT Jackson Carman (White Team) will be attempting to guard DE Xavier Thomas (Orange Team). Thomas already has a slight advantage because all he has to do is touch the quarterback to earn a sack.
Another intriguing matchup will be WR Tee Higgins (Orange Team) vs. CB AJ Terrell (White Team). I want to see how Terrell has improved and if he can guard one of the best wide receivers in the country in a little bit more exciting atmosphere than what may be felt in a normal scrimmage.
Scoring Prediction:
Orange Team 35, White Team 28
I’m going with the Orange Team to win the scrimmage. I think the passing game with Lawrence, Higgins, Frank Ladson and others will be too much for the White Team and they’ll come away with the victory.
