The Clemson football rosters for the 2019 Spring Game have been revealed. Here’s a look at some of the key points for the Tigers heading into the scrimmage.
We’re just one day out from the Clemson football spring game.
The Tigers will suit up for one last time in the spring Saturday afternoon and play a full-length scrimmage in front of an expected crowd of about 60,000 in Death Valley.
The team has been split up into two units- Orange & White- and will play against each other for the chance to avoid some extra conditioning to close out the spring.
Here’s a look at some of the key players for each team and the rosters themselves.
Orange Team:
The Orange Team is led by sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence will have Tee Higgins, Joe Ngata and part-time WR/CB Derion Kendrick to throw to as his top targets. Lyn-J Dixon and Tavien Feaster will split time as the running backs on the Orange Team.
Defensively, the Orange Team will be led by DE Xavier Thomas, LB/NB Isaiah Simmons and S Tanner Muse.
The Orange Team will be coached by Dabo Swinney (who will coach both teams), Brent Venables, Jeff Scott, Lemanski Hall, Mike Reed and Brandon Streeter.
White Team:
The White Team will be led by redshirt sophomore Chase Brice at quarterback. Brice has Justyn Ross and Frank Ladson as his top targets. Wide Receiver Diondre Overton isn’t expected to play, according to the roster.
The White Team certainly has more depth along the offensive line, with both expected starters at offensive tackle (Jackson Carman and Tremayne Anchrum) and both expected starter at offensive guard (Gage Cervenka and John Simpson) suiting up for them.
The defense for the White Team features AJ Terrell and K’Von Wallace as returning starters, as well as Xavier Kelly and freshman Tyler Davis at defensive tackle with Justin Mascoll, Justin Foster and KJ Henry at defensive end.
The White Team will be coached by Dabo Swinney (who is coaching both teams), Danny Pearman, Tony Elliott, Todd Bates, Robbie Caldwell and Mickey Conn.
