Former Alabama tight end OJ Howard is concerned about the rise of Clemson football and what it may mean for the Crimson Tide.

The Auburn Tigers made the Final Four under Coach Bruce Pearl for the first time in school history and that has many Alabama fans fuming.

As a matter of fact, much of that frustration was taken out on former Crimson Tide coach Avery Johnson, who was fired after being eliminated in the first round of the NIT Tournament this season.

Though many Crimson Tide fans are upset about the lack of success with the basketball program, former Alabama tight end OJ Howard took to Twitter to remind fans that there was another threat, much more prevalent to their success that had nothing to do with Auburn: Clemson football.

Howard expressed his displeasure with the fact that Clemson football doesn’t have just one, but two tombstones with Alabama’s name on it.

Thoughts:

Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever forget the name OJ Howard.

Because of Howard, in many ways, Clemson doesn’t have three tombstones with Alabama’s name on it. He absolutely tore up that Tiger secondary in 2015 and was almost impossible to guard.

Howard has one on to have a pretty successful first few years in the NFL, and for good reason. He is a great tight end with explosiveness unlike what you’re used to seeing at the position.

I know it’s on the same level of hatred, but I think the vast majority of fans- from both sides- would admit that the matchups between the two schools have become much more of a rivalry as of late, especially with the growth of the programs and battles in recruiting that are taking place.

I mean, Clemson vs. Alabama has been much more competitive than Clemson vs. South Carolina or Alabama vs. Auburn over the past few years, that’s for sure.
