The Clemson football team will begin its final week of practice for the spring session of 2019. Here’s what to look for as the Tigers hit the practice field.

Clemson football has but just a couple of sessions left in the spring season for 2019.

The Tigers, like the rest of College Football, were allowed 15 sessions and now they have just a couple remaining.

The final session of the spring will take place this Saturday in front of thousands of Clemson football fans during the annual spring game. The Tigers will play in Death Valley in an intrasquad scrimmage that will feature many of the festivities of a regular game day.

So, as we head into the final week of spring practice, here are a few things to keep your eye on.

  • Slot receiver

Who plays in the slot? Will Derion Kendrick transition back over to full-time wide receiver with the injury to Amari Rodgers? Could we see some of the other veterans- such as Cornell Powell, TJ Chase or even Diondre Overton- step up and earn starting playing time. We will hear a little bit about this in practice, but get to see a lot more in the spring game.

  • Kicking

As you watch the spring game Saturday, keep an eye on the field goal team in particular. How does BT Potter perform in front of a group of fans? He had a couple of really good practices, according to Dabo Swinney, following the break, but has been inconsistent.

How does he perform on a bigger stage?

  • Interior Defensive Line depth

Whenever you split the team into two groups, you’re going to see some major emphasis be placed on the young guys at defensive tackle this spring.

With two injuries to the expected starters in Jordan Williams and Nyles Pinckney, we’re going to see a lot of Xavier Kelly, Tyler Davis, Darnell Jefferies and several other young guys in the interior defensive line.
